The Chilkat Express is run by Chilkat Cruises & Tours for tourist excursions between Skagway, Alaska, and Glacier Point. With a top speed of 46 knots, this boat quickly shuttles up to 63 passengers on its 28nm, 40-minute journey, many from the cruise ships that regularly stop in Skagway.

Waterjet propulsion, together with the low draft of the Chilkat Express, enables it to pull right up to the beach and allow its passengers to disembark in remote wilderness locations. The Chilkat Express has replaced six small aircraft that previously did the transport for this trip. It has the added benefit of being able to stop to view some of the marine life in the area, including humpback whales, Orca and sea lions.
