Following the success of previously designed monohull fishing boats operating on the East Coast of New Zealand, Teknicraft was contracted to design a 14m cray fishing boat to be operated out of Kaikoura in the South Island.

As Kaikoura does not have suitable mooring facilities, the boat will be launched and recovered on a trailer and stowed on land over night. The hull has been reinforced to ensure that the daily trailer recovery does not affect the vessels lifespan.

Twin waterjet propulsion will enable the boat to cruise at 24 knots with a 5 tonne deadweight and reach maximum speed of up to 30 knots.
